There are 2 types of people who should care about this.

1- People engaged in SEO

2- People NOT engaged in SEO

Google Caffeine is “a rewriting of Google’s indexing system…it’s essentially rearchitecting or rewriting a large chunk of how Google indexes pages.” Google isn’t trying to make our jobs harder; their goal is to increase search speed in terms of crawling, page indexing, and page serving.

If you’re already engaged in SEO, then you there is some tweaking you need to do to keep up with Google’s changing systems (otherwise you might get left behind). And if you don’t do SEO, it’s a great and timely opportunity to apply some simple techniques to get some quick search ranking results results.

Regardless of which category you fall in, here are a few things you can do.

1- Submit an updated site-map to Google Webmaster because Google Caffeine will be crawling the web much faster, so having a road map for them to get to all your content is crucial.

2- Tag all the content on your site (videos, images, music, blog posts, twitter lists, bookmarks, etc) because all of this tag info will now be included in the indexing and serving of content.

With these simple tips aside, the most important thing is to be aware of how changes like these are a call to all of us to check up on our SEO. Regardless if you’re an SEO junkie or not, it’s a vital piece of the puzzle for your search ranking success.

I know the tips I listed are pretty basic…To all you SEO gurus, what other things should we be on the lookout for in light of Google Caffeine? Comment Below!
