What I am starting to look at is offering local SEO type services to a certain niche rather than just local businesses carte blanche. I started a couple of nichified sites with directories on them as part of the site. It has become apparent that the website owners in this niche are not at all search engine savvy so lets see what happens!!

All the best

Hi Ryan,

I am sure that one of my clients - a solar panels company (hugely competitive niche) thinks I am some kind of magician as I have got 2 of his sites on Page 1 of Big G for competitive long tail keywords and he is picking up new clients every week.

Abracadabra!!

Hey Ryan,

Being a "Local" expert in SEO I can vouch that there is a huge market of all types of businesses that need help with their online presence.

There are some 49 million Google Places listings that are unclaimed by the owners of those businesses. Just contacting them and pointing them in the right direction brings a lot of income. I supply a free guide on how to set their Places listing up and have a "do it for you" service.

This is just a precursor to providing SEO services to their website if they have one. If they do not a website I have a lease option and a full blown award winning website designer available. This is also followed by FB Fanpage set up and management of them.

It should not be forgotten that there are many under the counter businesses that earn more than Doctors, Dentists and Lawyers. Not XXX under the counter companies but industrial companies that are multi million turnover companies that are not visible on the internet and they do not realize the need for an Internet Marketer.

So much to do. Thanks again for the link they all help.

@Steve1776,
I actually did this for a local pool cleaning company, except I set up their website, set up twitter and facebook, and put them in the local search places like Google Local, plus I do a little online advertising for them on craigslist and backpage on an ongoing basis. Instead of them paying me a one time upfront fee for the online work, they pay me $50 for every new ongoing customer, and 10% of their fee for any repairs or one-time customers. This keeps them swamped with business, and I have income from them for a long time to come. Has worked great for both of us.

Google Places for local business is a huge market. Google has placed a huge emphasis on the local market and so I am just helping the local business with their local marketing and promoting their business. It has allow me to work from home. Business owners are so busy or confused about how to do this ... and so my expertise is in helping them with google places, directories, websites and next step is facebook, social media and QR codes for local business. Im using my expertise so they can get on what they are good at.

Thanks, I keep forgetting to try to optimize my site for local search results. I love it when our students come up with simple yet effective solutions.

lol one or two of the opinions people make are just absurd, more often than not i think about whether they even read the subject matter and items before leaving your 2 cents or if perhaps they pretty much read the title of the article and pen the very first thing that drifts into their minds. anyhow, it is really relaxing to look over smart commentary once in a while as opposed to the same exact, traditional blog vomit that i frequently notice on the web have a pleasant day
