Leveraging Your Business to Make a Real Social Impact

By on November 22, 2010

Don’t just make an impact on social media. Don’t just make an impression on the people in your news feed.

Further, don’t just use social media to leverage yourself. Or even to just make friends. However pure your motives may be, it’s much more powerful than that.

Leverage your business and your social media presence to make an impact on SOCIETY, online and offline.

Making a deeper, more meaningful impact on society with my business has been something on my todo list for quite some time, but I’ve never quite followed through.

I decided to change that this year by giving 100% of the registration fee for a live webinar I’m doing on the day after thanksgiving, with an end goal of donating $50,000 to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

I’m aiming for my emails, tweets, status updates and ‘likes’ to transcend their typical power of strengthening friendships, driving traffic, or just having fun. For this next week, all my social activity instead will result in helping to serve young people that have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.

If you feel the desire to help make an impact on society, share this post with your friends and encourage them to give back! I’d also encourage you to find a way that you can make your own impact during the holiday season. A small sacrifice can potentially equate to massive blessing to someone in need!

Do you see ways you can leverage your success to benefit others?  Comment Below!

p.s. I’m just one of many people seeking to make change through social media and the Internet, so I’m just following the example already set many great people.

Congratulations on surpassing your goal to raise money for Make A Wish foundation. I was on the webinar and invited many to enjoy the quality content and help a worthy cause.

You are always judged by your “ACTIONS”…I have partnered with 30 year marketing veteran that has created a concept called “SOCIAL MOVEMENT SYSTEM” where you take a “for profit” business model and attach to a reputable non-profit organization to funnel funds to support the organization in a major way on an ongoing basis.

Our first business model is Eco-Eco Now to support Conservation International to help save rain forest and oceans.

The concept is help individuals with their “personal economy” and at the same time help “ecology” through Conseravtion International.

This like you Ryan is talking the talk ….and Walking The Walk!

What you are doing is absolutely awesome!

I have been wanting to do something like this for a very long time. Not only will I participate in your event, but I am inspired to conduct my own social media fundraiser too. Congratulations and thank you.
