How You Can Beat All The Big Dogs In Affiliate Contests…

even if you don’t have your own list, your own product, or any startup money…

Ok, I know that’s a big claim. It’s the ol’ “No list, no product, and little or no investment” claim that is truly the Holy Grail in the on-line marketing space. But in the next few minutes, I’m going to give you the blueprint that I used to generate $674,900 in revenue in 2012.

Step 1: Find people with a big following or list, but aren’t currently monetizing it (particularly with continuity).

Now this may sound like a hard task, but it’s actually very easy. I started off by doing a search in LinkedIn under that heading of “groups”. Go to the search bar at the top of the page in LinkedIn, and click the dropdown menu to search “groups”, then type in anything that people are interesting in. For example, when I just typed in “Fitness” in there, dozens and dozens of groups pop up that have thousands and thousands of members.

When you do this, the information about the group owner is public information. I simply call the owner of the group and use a script that is in essence a conversation that asks him (her) if they are currently monetizing their list. The most common answer is “what do you mean by that?”, and that answer is music to my ears!

The same thing can be done with FaceBook fan pages. There are thousands of fan pages where the leader is just doing the fan page for “fun” and have large followings of “ready to take action” people.

The cool part of Facebook fan pages is, you can actually see how “engaged” the fans are by comparing how many fans there are to the number right beside that which is how many of the fans are “talking about this”.

For example, as I write this today, there is a FB fan page called “Juicing Vegetables”. It currently has 291,541 fans with 224,313 “talking about this”!!! That’s an insanely high engagement factor of 76.9%. (no need to call him as I’m already working with this very cool guy that is helping
hundreds of thousands of people J )

As you do these searches, you will see there are thousands of groups and fan pages with millions of people on them, and the leader is not currently monetizing their following. So these people are masters of building a list, and many of them just don’t have the time to focus on the monetization of them. Their amazing gift is building a “herd”.

So then what I do is contact them using my scripts, then those that are interested in helping their crowd by making cool “no brainer” offers, I then go on to step 2.

Step 2: Ask Their Crowd What They Want To Buy….

I then give this message to the group owner and have them send it to their groups via postings in the groups, and via Facebook messaging / LinkedIn messaging / and emails (if they have their email addresses).

Here’s the message I give them to send out:

“What is the one thing that you need the most help with now?”

That’s it! Basically it’s just asking them “What do you want to buy?”

Ok, so now we have your list and we have their response on the topics of what they want help with, now we move on to Step 3.

Step 3: Go To Google And Search For Pre-Done Courses On The Same Topics They Said They Wanted Help With

For instance, we have one group that we have worked with that was on the topic of “Sewing”. Their group said they wanted to learn how to make pants. So I simple went on Google, found a course on How To Make Pants, paid the owner of that course a single one time $25 for the rights to sell it a thousand times, and me and the list owner get to keep 100% of the profits. These are called “PLR Courses”. Which stands for Private Label Rights Courses. There are thousands of them on almost any topic you can think of. You can Google PLR to get more info on them.

Another good site to get “free courses” that we then package up and sell is on E-How.com There are thousands of free courses there where you can contact the creator of the course to get permission to distribute it to your group and you and the group owner keep virtually 100% of the profits. (I just use a good script when contacting the person who made the course).

I find the best courses are ones that are done as video, and again, there are thousands of them on just about any topic you can think of.

Step 4: Create A Continuity Membership Website For Each Group

About 3 years ago I took a course that changed my life and thousands of people that are in these groups. It was a course offered by Ryan Deiss called Continuity BluePrint. That course gave me the ability to run multiple continuity sites and generate millions of dollars (literally) by focusing on helping thousand upon thousands of people.

So in the example that we are talking about today, you can get these PLR courses for about $15 to $30 each, then put them in a membership site, that you then offer to these large groups and you and the group owner shares the profits.

Step 5: Get A Project Manager To Help You Do All The Work

So the next step is to get somebody to help you find the PLR courses, set up the landing pages, set up the shopping carts, and set up the membership websites. There are some great sites on the web that are full of these Project Managers that are looking for somebody just like you to lead a project.

The typical split is 45% to the group leader, 45% to me, and 10% to the project manager that does most of the actual work. I typically do not pay any “upfront” money to the project manager. They get paid their % when the funds start coming
in.

Step 6: Find Cool Ways To Frivolously Spend Your New Found Fortune

Ok, just kidding about the “Frivolously” thing, but you get the idea here. This is a very simple way to get:

  1.  An Instant List
  2. An Instant Product
  3. Somebody Else Does All The Work
  4. Make An Impressive Income

Imagine what it will look like when you have 3 or 4 of these membership sites that are helping people and are generating cash coming to you automatically like an assembly line. Let me tell you, it’s really really cool!

As stated in the title to this article, you can then use these groups to make ongoing affiliate offers to which provides another great source of income for you and the group owner.

So this is meant as a quick overview of what I have been doing and what you can copy. Due to space limitations, we can’t go into all the details here.     Hello Carl. I lost you a little bit where it came to membership sites. I know this is the holy grail, but how do you keep people on the membership if you have one 15-30$ product loaded?

      Hey Ivin,
      I just simply reach into that $674,900 that this generated last year and spend another $15 – $30 every week to add more content. With membership sites, new content needs to be added on a weekly basis. This is the job of the project manager, to look for great content, and keep the ongoing information up to date.

    Cool beans, it sounds simple, with actionable steps to take. The one thing that is intimidating is how can we trust the PLR’s? There are great PLR and there are not so good.

    How can we be sure that we are actually helping people, not just selling something to make a profit.

    Would this work also with an affiliate offers?

      Great question Andrew.
      We have the list owner or another “expert on that topic” look at the PLRs.
      They toss out the 80% that are crap, and post the 20% of the “Holy cow, that’s great information” PLRs on the membership site.

      As long as you or somebody else reviews the information to make sure it is quality, then you are providing them help because you are giving them exactly what they asked for.

      Affiliate offers are fine, as long as they are what the crowd asked for.
      It’s a mistake to find a product THEN find a group that wants that product.

      This takes the angle of Find a group, ASK them what they want to buy,
      THEN find products that they asked for.

      It’s like selling water in the desert to thirsty people :-)
