Facebook is now #3 in online video, which is quite an accomplishment seeing that they’ve been undertaking a lot of new territory lately. Of course Google is a #2 and Yahoo is #3 with a huge gap in between.
By the way, this isn’t a post to talk about how Facebook may threaten Google’s Youtube one day. I’m more excited about the expansion of Facebook’s search engine and the rewards of using Facebook video.
In the long run Facebook is building a larger network of content that is can utilize for the greater good of its search engine. I’ll admit that I’m still getting used to the Facebook search bar pulling up more than just friends or apps, but with more content I’m more likely to search for more diverse content.
Facebook is becoming a bigger SEO target, meaning that we must start paying more attention to the needs of Facebook and not just Google. While Google should still be your first love when it comes to SEO, Facebook can be your new friend.
Building up quality video content will come in handy when more users start turning to Facebook for a search.
With this news I’m sure that I’ll be implementing more Facebook video for my Fan Page knowing how much video traffic Facebook is getting.
Are you posting vids on Facebook, if not, are you going to start now that you know how important it is? Comment Below!

I started posting some Acoustic Guitar Lessons on Facebook and have been surprised at the number of fanpage visit we get per week… Even more traffic than some of our sites…
